Hi everyone, welcome to the launch of not only Absent, but the blog as well!

Wow it has been a long journey coming. Lots of creating and deleting, rethinking and redesigning... but we're here. And I am so excited! Since this is the first ever Absent blog post, I want to take a moment to explain- the concept, the why, and what you can expect from the blog section because it is not my usual content.

There’s a lot of noise in the world. I created Absent as a place to step away from it. This space exists for stories — the ones that take time to form, the ones that live in details, and the ones that feel worth sending into the world. Absent is a creative "studio", but more than that, it’s a philosophy: a commitment to creating intentionally, thoughtfully, and with purpose. This blog is an extension of that idea.

Here, you’ll find written reflections that move alongside our work — expanded conversations from the podcast, behind-the-scenes looks at creative projects, business updates, life observations, and moments of personal writing. Some posts may feel practical, others reflective. Some may arrive as essays, others as poetry or journal-style entries. All of them are rooted in the same purpose: to slow down and share something meaningful. Some of you may know and some of you will not, but I have always loved writing, I write often, sometimes with intention, sometimes just simply to word vomit onto a page, sometimes it's a story, but like everything else I started, I believe experiences and stories are meant to be shared.

Many of these posts will begin as topics and conversations — episodes from Abigayl On Air — and continue here in written form. Writing allows space for pause, for expansion, and for nuance. It’s a way to sit longer with ideas that deserve more time than a single moment.

You’ll also see updates from behind the scenes of Absent itself: what we’re building, what we’re learning, and how the creative process unfolds when it’s allowed to be honest rather than rushed. This includes everything from visual work and brand development to personal reflections on creativity, exploration, and the world we move through.

At its core, Absent is about presence — even in absence. It’s about stepping back from distraction to create work that feels grounded, human, and lasting. This blog isn’t here to perform or overwhelm. It’s here to document, to reflect, and to offer space for connection.

If you’re reading this, you’re already part of it.

Welcome to Absent.

I'm glad you’re here <3

With love & gratitude,

Abigayl
